Ray Bard, Publisher

Ray Bard’s publishing experience includes more than 35 years of writing, producing, and publishing books and multimedia material. He has written or co-authored 10 business books published by major houses, such as Doubleday, William Morrow, Jossey-Bass, and Addison-Wesley. In 1972, he founded and directed a small press before selling it to a subsidiary of the New York Times.

In 1982, he established Bard Productions and produced books for major publishers in New York, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco. He also helped start-up presses around the country get off the ground until narrowing the company's focus to publishing exceptional business books. Since the founding of the Bard Press imprint in 1996, 50 percent of its books have become national bestsellers, with many winning book of the year awards.

Meg La Borde, Deputy Publisher

Meg began her career in publishing as a literary publicist, booking interviews with major media outlets, including Oprah, and representing more than 30 authors, including two Bard Press bestsellers, Roy Williams and Ivan Misner. In 2000, Meg joined forces with Clint Greenleaf to help build Greenleaf Book Group, a publisher and distributor created to support independent authors and small presses. She defined Greenleaf’s position in the industry, developed the company’s publishing, sales, and marketing programs, and engineered the infrastructure that supports Greenleaf’s rapid expansion. Today, Greenleaf Book Group is one of the fastest growing companies in America (named to the INC. 500 list in September 2006).

Reunited with Bard Press after working with more than 300 authors and publishers, Meg La Borde now lends her creative experience and business savvy to Bard as Deputy Publisher.
